Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has officially introduced the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, marking the arrival of the brand’s first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in the Philippine market. Positioned as MMPC’s new flagship SUV, the Outlander PHEV brings together Mitsubishi Motors’ experience in electrification and four-wheel-drive engineering under what the company calls “The Power of Both Worlds.”
Recognized by Mitsubishi as Japan’s best-selling PHEV in the SUV segment, the new Outlander combines a gasoline engine and two electric motors with the brand’s Super All-Wheel Control system. The result is an electrified SUV designed to provide electric driving for shorter trips while retaining the flexibility of a gasoline engine for longer journeys.
Plug-in hybrid power with almost 1,000 kilometers of combined range
The all-new Outlander PHEV is powered by a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with MIVEC, paired with separate front and rear electric motors. Together, the system produces a combined 306PS of maximum power and 450Nm of torque, with the powertrain switching between electric and gasoline operation depending on driving conditions and energy requirements.
Mitsubishi states that the Outlander PHEV offers an almost 1,000-kilometer combined driving range, along with up to 100 kilometers of pure electric range. This gives drivers the option of completing shorter daily trips on electric power while retaining the gasoline engine for additional power or extended travel.
Drivers can also select among four EV drive modes: Normal, Save, Charge, and EV Priority. The vehicle supports AC Type 2 charging, making it compatible with the charging infrastructure commonly used in the Philippines, while its hybrid operation allows it to continue driving even when charging facilities are unavailable.
This flexibility is central to the Outlander PHEV’s positioning. Rather than requiring drivers to rely entirely on public charging, the system allows them to use electric power when practical and fall back on hybrid operation when longer range is needed.
Super All-Wheel Control adds 4WD capability
The Outlander PHEV also features Mitsubishi Motors’ Super All-Wheel Control, or S-AWC, which integrates Twin-Motor 4WD, Active Yaw Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Active Stability Control, and Traction Control System.
By coordinating these systems, S-AWC continuously manages traction, stability, and handling based on road and driving conditions. Mitsubishi positions the system as a way of combining the instant response of electric motors with the control associated with its four-wheel-drive technologies.
Seven selectable drive modes further allow drivers to tailor the vehicle to different situations. Normal, Eco, and Power modes focus on driving preference and responsiveness, while Tarmac, Gravel, Snow, and Mud adjust power delivery and traction control for different road surfaces.
The combination of electrification and S-AWC is intended to preserve the driving character traditionally associated with Mitsubishi SUVs while adding the efficiency and responsiveness of a plug-in hybrid system.
Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing
The all-new Outlander PHEV is also equipped with the Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing suite.
Its driver-assistance features include Forward Collision Mitigation, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic High Beam, and Driver Attention Alert. Together, these systems are designed to support the driver by monitoring surrounding traffic and road conditions.
A more refined Outlander design
The new Outlander PHEV retains Mitsubishi’s SUV identity while adopting a more contemporary and upscale design. Its wide proportions, muscular stance, and sculpted body surfaces are paired with the brand’s signature Dynamic Shield front fascia, full-LED lighting, and 20-inch machine-finished and black two-tone alloy wheels.
Mitsubishi also says the use of steel on prominent body components helps improve noise and vibration characteristics. Combined with the vehicle’s proportions and exterior design, the changes are intended to create a quieter and more refined driving environment while maintaining the visual presence expected from the brand’s flagship SUV.
Premium comfort and connected technology
Inside, the Outlander PHEV features light gray leather-trimmed seats, soft-touch materials, and a panoramic sunroof that adds to the cabin’s more open and premium feel. Its interior combines these comfort features with technology intended for both everyday driving and longer journeys.
A 12.3-inch Smartphone-Link Display Audio system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is paired with an eight-speaker Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium audio system. The vehicle also includes a Smart Rear View Mirror and a Head-Up Display that projects relevant driving information onto the windshield.
Comfort features include triple-zone automatic climate control and eight-way power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support. Both the driver and front passenger seats also include memory functions, heating, and ventilation.
Pricing and availability in the Philippines
The all-new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV carries a suggested retail price of PHP2,848,000 in the Philippines. From August 20 to September 30, 2026, MMPC is offering an introductory price of PHP2,749,000 for qualified reservations and vehicle releases, under DTI Fair Trade Permit No. FTEB-265048, series of 2026.
Three exterior colors are available: White Diamond, Black Diamond, and Red Diamond. The vehicle is available through authorized Mitsubishi Motors dealerships nationwide starting August 20, 2026.
